I’ve gotten some outstanding contributor submissions already, which I’m super duper excited about, being able to bring some amazing new voices into the fold of good queer news. Now, onto the clickbait title of this article, which I personally stand by. You might be thinking, I wonder what Ben is up to, making these plans to share the workload of Good Queer News. I wonder if he might have some sort of upcoming long-term distraction that may make it hard to be consistent about writing articles…

It is with absolutely explosive jubilations that I write to you all that my wife is pregnant, and in March of next year, I will become a father!!!!!!!
This has been a long time coming, and it’s still pretty surreal that after a year of IVF and tests and appointments and ultrasounds our family is going to grow a little bigger this spring.
Rest assured that my work will continue. It feels even more urgent now to build a world not just that I’m proud of, but that I want my daughter to inherit.
Between now and March, I’m going to be working my butt off on my travel season and on a new literary project due December 1st that I’ll share more about in a later post.
After that, I’m all in this winter on building Good Queer News up into something big. Especially with the news of the Paramount merger and the increasing fearmongering and right-wing capture of the legacy media ecosystem. Building meaningful, joyful, solutions-focused independent journalism feels like a very critical mission to me.
Big dreams are great, and I’ve got plenty of those, but I’m learning that big dreams aren’t a whole lot without BIG PLANS to make those dreams come true, and to share the workload so things don’t all get stuck with me.
These will be seasons of growth for Good Queer News, and I’m incredibly grateful to those of you whose support has already made so much of this work possible.
